Brown & Brown of NY Teammates Build House in Nicaragua

Brown & Brown of NY’s Mark RollinsFred GastonDonna Witt and a group of nine other business professionals recently traveled to Nicaragua for a week to build a home in a remote part of that country for a family living on the edge of survival. They were a part of the Bridges to Community team that hosted and provided six local masons to help guide them.  And, together they built a complete home in 5 days! (see completed house below)

“My life here in New York is so different than the families in Nindiri, Nicaragua,” reflected Mark upon return from the mission trip. “Yet, at the same time I was reminded how important it is to be grateful, kind, happy and loving to our fellow human beings. The people in Nicaragua reminded us of that as we built this new home.”

This marked the 16th time Mark has participated in home building in Nicaragua, and the first time for Fred and Donna. Please contact Mark in our Westchester office (914-588-4415) if you are interested in joining him on a future trip.

Bridges to Community in Ossining, New York, is a non-profit, community development organization which takes groups of volunteers to developing countries to work, learn and reflect.
